Since 2000 Paul Grist has been publishing another creator-owned series under his Dancing Elephant imprint: Jack Staff. Situated in modern day Britain, it is a book about the return of a retired super hero, but since it is told in Grist's unique storytelling and drawing style it has a fine twist. In early 2003 the series, now in colour, was picked up with a new numbering by Image comics and ran through issue #20 and three TBPs, before being restarted as "The Weird World of Jack Staff" in 2010.
